Brent Timmons

Brent Timmons is a Partner with Merovitz Potechin LLP and the Head of Business and Corporate Group. Brent is a business lawyer with more than 20 years of experience, representing clients in all types of corporate and commercial transactions and corporate governance matters. He is also a Certified Legal Project Manager.

Brent focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, corporate finance and commercial transactions. Brent has extensive experience in various domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, representing both Canadian and international clients and has led deal teams on many complex and high-profile transactions.

Brent has counseled clients on structuring and carrying out a broad range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, private equity transactions, joint ventures, financing transactions and other complex international transactions.

Brent has substantial experience in representing founders, investors, acquirers and issuers. He advises companies through all stages of development on corporate operations (including risk management, fiduciary duties, board committees, shareholders agreements, asset protection, corporate reorganizations, capital raises and distributions, employee and executive compensation) as well on matters relating to distribution agreements, business partnerships and joint venture transactions.

Originally from Nova Scotia, Brent spends as much time as possible on hikes with elevation along with his wife and sons.
