Game-changing Amendments to the New Construction Act
Presented by Roxie Graystone
June 12, 2019
In May 2017 the Ontario government introduced amendments to the Construction Lien Act. Since then, several changes have come into force with the most recent being passed in December 2018. The biggest of these changes will come in October 2019 when the prompt payment and adjudication regimes are introduced. These regimes will change payment practices and dispute resolution across the industry.
Lawyer, Roxie Graystone, speaks about these recent and coming changes and what you can do to ensure you are ready for the changing landscape. This webinar is geared towards anyone in the construction industry and covers lien reform, holdback, prompt payment, and adjudication.
This webinar discusses the six most significant changes brought about by Bill 148 to the Employment Standards Act. This includes:
- Introduction of new types of employee leave and changes to existing types
- Independent contractor vs. employee
- Equal pay for equal work
- Employee scheduling
