Tanya Hewitt

Tanya is a litigation associate with Merovitz Potechin. Her practice is centered around civil and commercial litigation.

Tanya prides herself on developing meaningful relationships with her clients and guiding them through high stress and pressing circumstances. She caters her advocacy to suit her clients’ needs and makes every effort to move their matter forward expeditiously.

Tanya has considerable knowledge in the regulations of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Prior to law school, she worked at Canada’s financial intelligence unit where she assisted reporting entities in observing their compliance obligations and provided training on virtual currencies considerations for the organization. During law school, she worked as a research assistant at the Blockchain Legal Lab, where she examined the evolvement of FinTech regulation in Canada and across the world.

Tanya is fluent in both French and English, with a working knowledge of Italian.

Every four years, Tanya proudly puts on her England jersey to support her team at the World Cup but quickly rips it off out of frustration. She also enjoys Pelotonning in her spare time.
