Deborah (Debbie) O’Connor joined Merovitz Potechin LLP in 2021 after 5 years as a sole-practitioner of a successful property law office in East-Ottawa. Debbie’s practice focuses on property law with an emphasis on residential and commercial real estate. 

Debbie offers clients her significant expertise in all areas of residential and commercial real estate including purchase and sale of a home, multi-unit properties, cottage conveyancing, financing, commercial leasing, contract drafting and negotiation, and co-tenancy agreements. She is an effective advocate and her attention to detail, dedication, and ability to resolve issues while working efficiently, ensure that her clients are well served. 

Debbie has been practicing property law for over 16 years. Having waited until her children were grown before attending law school, she graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2004. Proud of her Irish heritage, Debbie was delighted to have spent a semester at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland while obtaining her law degree. 

Debbie was on the board of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce for ten years prior to its amalgamation with the Ottawa Board of Trade and continues to serve her community on the board of the Orleans BIA (Business Improvement Area).

Outside of the office, Debbie enjoys spending time with her four daughters, travelling to warm destinations, cooking, and reading.
